What is ​​Berberine (BBR)?

Berberine (BBR) is an important quaternary benzyl isoquinoline alkaloid found in many commonly used medicinal plants, such as Coptis chinensis Franch, Berberis vulgaris L and Berberis aristata DC. BBR has been used in traditional medical systems in China and India for more than 3000 years.
